To say things can get tense these days would be…a bit of an understatement. When two opposing forces pull away from each other toward extremes, the resulting tension between them can stretch the limits of dialogue, debate, and the relationship itself.
But, as Dr. King states above, it is precisely this tension which can lead to growth.
All that’s needed is one of the two opposing parties, in the midst of this tension, to stay committed to open, nonreactive (screamfree) communication toward the other, regardless of what the other side does.
This is simply how marriage works.
